Each week night your student has homework for class. Please make sure they are doing their homework every night. If you are not sure what the homework is, please check the "Homework" tab on our classroom website or check your student's planner. We write in our planner every day, so it should be up to date.
Welcome to Mrs. Strickland's classroom website. Take a look around! Have questions? Just email me!

Please have your child read every day for at least 30 minutes. It doesn't matter what they read, as long as they are reading. Magazines, online articles, novels... etc. Aleks is available for your student all summer and into October of next year. I recommend doing aleks daily to keep up on skills, especially if your student have not made it into 6th grade aleks yet. ELA testing for SBAC will be the week of April 24th. Math testing for SBAC will be the week of May 22nd.
We will have specials, snack/morning meeting, then testing. Your student is allowed to bring gum to chew on if it helps with concentration. Welcome back from winter break! Hope everyone had a nice time. Looking forward to the learning that will be happening in 2017! :)
BSD Unveils new My Stop™ app to track your child's school bus
The Beaverton School District's Transportation Department has partnered with Versatrans® to bring you the My Stop™ bus information app. My Stop™ gives you the ability to know exactly where your child's bus is on the route. The app pinpoints the bus's location on a map, as well as provides the estimated time of arrival to a specific student's bus stop. The app uses the District's GPS system. The location is updated every five seconds and the estimated time of arrival is recalculated due to traffic delays. The app will come in especially handy during inclement weather. My Stop™ requires very little setup, especially for parents and guardians. Usernames are tied to specific students. All a parent needs to do is log in using the student's ID # as the username and the student's birthdate as the password. Have a wonderful long Thanksgiving weekend! I am thankful for my fantastic class and the support I have from parents.
